Privacy Policy for PDFox
Last Updated: May 22, 2026
Welcome to PDFox ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using PDFox, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
PDFox is designed to be a privacy-first application. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers.
Device Permissions
To provide its core functionality, the App requests access to certain device features:
- Storage / Files / Media: Required to open, read, edit, and save PDF files and images directly on your device.
- Camera (if applicable): Required if you choose to use the app to scan documents into PDFs using your device's camera.
- Photo Library: Required to import images for converting into PDFs or adding images as stamps/annotations.
How We Process Your Data (Local Processing)
All document processing — including reading, annotating, signing, and converting files — is performed locally on your device.
- Your documents, signatures, and stamps are never uploaded, transmitted, or backed up to our servers or any third-party cloud services by the App itself.
- Saved files are stored directly in your device's local file system or a cloud storage provider of your choosing (e.g., Google Drive) via your device's native Share Menu.
Third-Party Services
Since PDFox operates locally, it does not integrate with third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising SDKs that harvest your personal information. However, if you download the App through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, those platforms may collect usage metrics and crash logs as per their own privacy policies.
Security of Your Information
We prioritize the security of your documents by keeping them entirely on your device. However, remember that no method of electronic storage on a mobile device is 100% secure. It is your responsibility to secure your device using passwords, biometrics, or encryption provided by your operating system.
Children's Privacy
PDFox does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Because the App operates entirely offline and locally, no data is transmitted from children to us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app's features or legal requirements. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
